The Choir
For more than 100 years now the male choir HARMONIE Lindenholzhausen with its 90 singers presents high-quality choir music. The choir’s extensive repertoire covers all periods of vocal music and the 20th. century, among them choral works composed by R.R. Klein, A. Koerppen, F. Farcas and many others more. Some of the works have been specially composed for HARMONIE Lindenholzhausen. At the same time the choir dedicates itself to oratorioes usually performed together with the female choir “Dzintars” Riga / Latvia.
Numerous concert tours and participations in international festivals took the HARMONIE to Austria, the Czech Republic, Egypt, England, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Macedonia, Russia, USA and Wales. In Wales the choir won first prize in the male choir category at the International “Eisteddfod” Llangollen in 1995 and 2007(second prize in 2003). In Germany, the Harmonie won several times prizes in the Hessen and German Choir Competitions. 1998, HARMONIE won first prize in the male choir category at the German Choir Competition in Regensburg (second prize 2006 in Kiel).
Today the HARMONIE Lindenholzhausen is conducted by Jan Schumacher and the assisstant conductor Andreas Jung.
Festival
The HARMONIE is organizer of the worldwide famous HARMONIE-FESTIVALS. 230 choirs and folkgroups with 7.500 participants from 48 nations took part in the 5th. HARMONIE FESTIVAL in May 2005. The next HARMONIE FESTIVAL will take place in 2011 from June 2nd to June 6th. HARMONIE would be glad to welcome you as participants or guests. From September 2009 you should ask for the syllabus with the conditions of entry (or contact us by e-mail). Visits with concerts are possible every year.
